PRESS RELEASE:  Residents can sign up for Emergency Alerts via text message thru the San Bernardino County "TENS" Program.

Now full time residents  and part time residents can receive fire, earthquake, etc. alerts when they are off the mountain. TENS is a proven success and has placed hundreds of thousands of calls during wildfire and flood events since its creation in 2004. However, until now only landlines where included.  Now you can register your cell phone and/or Voiceover Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone. Click Here to register.

The Rim Mountain Search Dog Project will establish and support a dog and handler team to the rim area of the San Bernardino Mountains.  After a local resident, Dean Christy, was lost and perished while hiking only a short distance from the outskirts of town, it pointed out how important the accessibility of a K-9 rescue team is to the mountain areas.  Minutes can mean life or death and at the present time available teams must be brought in from other areas costing precious search time.

Mountain residents joined by local firefighters and search and rescue personnel have given their support to this project.  The handler and dog will be required to reside fulltime on the mountain and the handler must also be employed on the mountain as well.   Whether it's a $1 or $100 every little bit donated helps get us closer to our goal.
